What gives you direction in life?

©Juliette Jenner NYC 10185-1718. Years ago I went for a riding lesson at Clairmont. I was told by the instructor that ‘where you look is where you end up’. When I ended up falling from a white horse with one eye, I had not been looking down. I was wondering why my horse had one eye. Luckily, when I fell I ‘rolled’ away from the horse. If I had not rolled, the skiddish horse would have trampled me. My first thought after the mishap was that if I had not watched a program that taught one to roll in those same type of occurrences I would have gotten injured, or dead. When I watched the TV program, I had no interest in learning to ride, but the two things I did learn saved my life in two different instances at the same place, Clairmont. Clairmont has since closed. The lessons were not as I would have wanted it to be, but its sentiment does have a credence factor. The horse needed control & direction from me more than usual because of its blind eye; my fall was lack of direction for me & the horse. Being introspective, or empathetic, to the infirmary of a powerful animal – & not to the horse’s training, was the cause of the accident; the direction would have been avoided if I had not considered that he was going to be affected. The loud noise that caused the unrest would have been controlable if I had been less associative to his loss of vision – as Blinders do that too, to no consequence. What gives me direction – as similar incidents occur in my life, is to look up to the sky especially when its blue, to confer with the Cosmos & sometimes, my God. Whatever your religion, you have to allow yourself to aspire, to pray to not to be prey to circumstances, & give thanks that education is imparted freely – everywhere! that can & will save our lives. Therefore every new day gives me direction in life & the opportunity to be thankful for the learning that made it possible. ©Juliette Jenner, NYC 10185-1718/NYC 10023
